I dreamed I was in my childhood town. In the centre I encountered this massive monolith, a Cathedral visible above the housing blocks in mid distance, 2-3 streets beyond. It had a Brutalist quality, like Corbusier's Notre Dame du Ronchamps or the restored national theatre in Bucharest. It also looked like a neo-Romanesc palace, an industrial ruin and a Gothic cathedral, all at the same time.
As I walked around to arrive at its entrance, I realised it was very curious in that it had no ground level façade; the many towers seemed to be all around me, at the same remaining in transcendent mid-distance. I later realised the main nave was all underground, although there were 2 small Gothic facades visible on one of the central streets (on either side of it), as a sort of marking of its presence.
This artwork is an attempt at visualising the image from the dream.
